The Riley Safety Store at Riley Hospital for Children
The Riley Safety Store offers low-cost child safety products and injury prevention education to both Riley Hospital families, staff, and the general public. The Riley Safety Store is not just a store to buy safety products, but it is also an educational experience, whether shopping or browsing.

The staff is trained to teach you how to properly use and maintain safety products and practice child safety for all 150+ safety products in the store—all sold at low cost. The Riley Safety Store is set up with areas that simulate a kitchen, a bathroom, a bedroom, etc. In each of these “rooms” there is an example of the safety product to be used, such as a stove guard that protects a child from turning the buttons or grabbing the handle of pots on the stove.

The Riley Safety Store is the first of its kind in the nation to serve families of all chidren, including children with special needs, and has become a model for other children’s hospitals to replicate.
