The McClure Family - 2010
![]() I am a mother of 5 kids and a grandmother of 1 grandchild. I grew up on the Eastside of Indianapolis and I am the youngest of 5 siblings. I was very shy while growing up and I had a pretty good childhood. I am sure I am like others meaning that I have had my share of ups and downs. But no matter what I was going through I always liked to help people if I could. I believe that life and how you treat people is like a big boomerang that will come back around to you sooner or later. So with this I try to treat people like I want to be treated. Thank you Habitat for Humanity and everyone involved for giving my family this opportunity to participate in this program to ownership and finally for a place to call our own. This opportunity will also allow for my kids to have it better then I did and I am so very excited for this blessing to come our way. When I received my approval from Cyndi on June 10, 2009 it lifted a big burden off my chest. I really can’t think of any other way to put it. I was so happy that I just had to read though the approval letter at least 3-5 times more. I was like yes thank you Lord and thank you Habitat for Humanity for this needed break. I look at my kids and they are a big part of the reason why I work so hard to provider for them. This opportunity will make it a little easier for me to continue to do what I need to do for my family. I started working at around the age of 13 and I have been working hard non-stop ever since so that I could and continue to provide for my family the best that I can. I try to instill in my kids that we should all keep the blessings moving by helping others. This opportunity provided to my family makes me realize that dreams do come true and that you must have faith that cannot be shaken and realize that by doing the right that things do work out. I am truly grateful for this opportunity. I am so happy that my kids will have a backyard to enjoy in the own way, I am so excited about having a mortgage/rental payment that I will actually be able to afford. I am jus so excited about this. I just am so very happy and I can’t wait to be involved in helping build a new home for another family as well being involved in the building of my families’ new home. A home where we can start making new memories and a place to continue to grow as a family and to be able talk about both the old memories we have and the new memories that have yet to come.
