15! That’s the number of times I moved within a two year period. Packing and unpacking was a lot of work for a full-time high school student and a part-time employee at Subway. Violence and gangs is what my fiancé remembers from growing up in the Southside of Chicago. He also moved a lot, even when he and his family moved to Indianapolis. We both have had some very hard times in our childhood that we don’t want our seventeen month old daughter Lydia to go through. Since we’ve had a daughter we have tried to keep her in a safe and nice environment to grow up in, but we have already moved three times since she was born. I don’t want to have her keep moving around like we had to. Last year we tried to buy a condo but we were denied from the bank. My sister informed us about Habitat for Humanity and we started the program right away. We think we really deserve this program because we’re hard working parents who want the best for our daughter and future child. We want to thank you so much for this opportunity.
