My name is Gayla Brown. I have a 4 year old son, Sirjames Smith Jr. I am 24 years old and looking forward to building my home. Currently living with me is my mother and five other siblings. I am the oldest of 6. My mother is currently going through a divorce and to help, we are all living together. I have three younger sisters, Naomi Burch, age 6, Sarah Burch, age 7, and Princess Burch, age 9 and two brothers, Leon Brown, age 22, and Titus Burch, age 12. We are all originally from Ohio, but moved to Indianapolis nine years ago. I graduated from North Central High School and currently work for Chase Bank here in Indianapolis. I am really looking forward to the building of our home, so that we have something that is stable and is our own. After purchasing the home through Habitat, I plan to further my education and continue my career with Chase!
I am grateful for the opportunity that I was given to work with Habitat for Humanity and I plan to get many people involved with volunteering when I have the available time. Our main concern is keeping our family together and making sure the children do well so they are successful in life!
