Our Story

Our story is almost the same. Dennis Davis was born in Feb of 1957 and I was born in Feb. of 1958, we both were born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dennis was raised on the Westside and I was raised on the Eastside. We both started school in 1963 at James E. Roberts, 1401 E. 10th St. This school was built for persons with a disability and is now a National Historic Landmark.
Dennis and myself are best of friends and we both have the desire to be homeowners. I graduated in 1977 and Dennis graduated in 1978, both from Arsenal Tech High School. We went our own ways for 6 years. Dennis took care of his grandma and mom and I took care of my mom and niece.
In 2004, Dennis went through partners in policymaking. In 2005, I went through the same classes. In 2008 Dennis and myself took the course of partners in leadership.
In 1983, we got back together and tried to buy a home but was outbidded. So we just lived in small one bedroom apartments. In 2009 Dennis found Habitat but we thought we made too much money. So Dennis made some phone calls and we signed up, gave all the info that was needed and here we are we picked our address and can’t wait.
