Hello. My name is Ibrahim Adam. I am from Sudan, Northeast Africa. I was born and grew up in a small town in the West Nile called ABA Island. I studied all my education there. I grew up among a large family with three brothers and six sisters. My father was a farmer and had a low income. He could not support his family so I dropped out of school after 2 years of college to find a job to help him. Since that time, I had a dream to come to America.
In 2001, my dream came true. My first trip to New York I worked at different places, store, and warehouses so I can gain additional experience. After that, I moved to Grand Rapids, MI and worked for 2 years at Meridian Automotive System. After the company moved to Mexico, I lost my job and came to Indianapolis. Now I work for Ryder Integrated Logistics located at Georgetown Rd. and 78th Street.
Later after my wife Rasha Hassan came to America, God blessed us with a beautiful daughter Sera Adam. She is 8 months old. My wife is not working and I am the only one who works. We live in a 2 bedroom small apartment and pay too much for rent and other expenses. I heard about Habitat for Humanity from my friend Efrem. I went over there and applied so we have wish and hope and believe that Habitat for Humanity will give us a good homeownership.
