To Potential Habitat AmeriCorps Members:

Greetings and thank you for showing an interest in our service opportunity. We are excited and energized at the prospect of working with community minded people in a determined effort to eliminate poverty housing in Greater Indianapolis.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis is a non-profit, ecumenical group. Our mission is to build simple, decent homes with people in need, no interest, no profit. We charge no interest on our mortgages, and sell the houses for no profit.  We work in harmony with churches, businesses, student organizations, and of course the homeowners themselves to further our goal.

Because additional hands are needed to accomplish this awesome goal we are a proud partner with AmeriCorps via the Indiana HabiCorps program.  

What is AmeriCorps?
AmeriCorps was created in 1993 to help meet the nation’s critical needs.  It is supported by Congress, the President, and is recognized nationwide.

As a national service program it will provide the funding for us to train you to work onsite with the volunteers and partner families on a day-to-day basis.

A full-time professional staff person who is highly skilled and fully knowledgeable in the respective area will supervise each of these positions.
