Most people think of swinging a hammer when they think about volunteering for Habitat. Due to the tremendous amount of planning and management required to build just one home, we have a steady need for volunteers to help in our office and ReStore, too! Volunteers of all ages, including our younger volunteers (under the age of 16), may opt to help out here... You don't need to be an expert in any of these fields to join us! There are many tasks that require only a willingness to learn and work with others.

Listed below are some of the non-construction volunteer opportunities.

Committees

• Members for Committees —
  We have many committees which often need assistance or new committee members. Please visit our Committees page for more information about each of our committees

Habitat Tiger Team

• Tiger Team Member —
  Our "Tigers" are retired men and women who volunteer on a weekly or monthly basis in our warehouse and on the build sites.  Our Tigers help to outfit our tool trailers, pre-build parts for our homes and help to lead volunteers on the build sites!

Office/Clerical/Teaching

• Skilled Worker —
  Also needed are licensed volunteers with extensive knowledge in plumbing, electrical, heating/venting, etc. that would be willing to help complete these tasks on our homes.
• Media, Newsletter, Press Assistant —
  For anyone interested in writing for the newsletter, issuing press releases, making contact with local media, etc. No experience necessary - just enthusiasm! Contact the Volunteer Coordinator if you're a candidate.
• Office Assistant —
  We are always looking for folks to assist answering phones, helping with mailings, data entry (Excel and Giftmaker Pro), Powerpoint presentations, Microsoft Word letters, and other general office activities.

ReStore — Retail outlet store

• ReStore Donations Vehicle Driver —
  The ReStore needs volunteers to drive our donation pick-up vehicle. Sometimes you will need to assist in loading donated materials into the donations vehicle, so the ablility to safely lift 50 lbs is desired.
• ReStore In-store Volunteer —
  The ReStore is always looking for volunteers to work in the store. Check the ReStore page on this site for more information.
